Dear Residents, Families, and Associates of Abbotswood at Irving Park;
I would like to share an update to our current protocols that may affect you and your family. We recently shared that we have a few residents who have tested positive for COVID-19 on Parkside of The Elms. As a result, and in partnership with The Guilford County Department of Health, on 7/21-7/22 we are testing all residents and associates that live or work in The Elms. We have no known cases or risk exposure identified in other parts of our campus at this time.
Out of an abundance of caution we are heightening our safety protocols temporarily until we receive the results of this week’s testing. To that end, we are temporarily suspending all window and in-person visits from friends and family campus-wide. We believe this will help minimize outside exposures and protect our residents and family members until we better understand our case count. We will continue to offer support with assistance, tablets and coordinating virtual visits using Facetime and other video call sources. We recognize how important and challenging staying connected to your loved ones is during this pandemic. Please know that we plan to resume safe visits as soon as possible and will communicate promptly when we are able to do so. Important to note, essential visitors for resident care needs (hospice, doctors, physical therapy, etc.) will continue to be allowed as essential services using designated points of entry with temperature/symptom screening and confirmation of proper PPE.
We appreciate your ongoing support and understanding. The health and safety of our residents and associates is and always will be our top priority.
Sincerely,
Will Eubank Assistant Executive Director
Allison Pait, Executive Director
