Dear Residents & Families of Abbotswood at Stonehenge,
On Thursday, saliva samples were submitted for 2 pools. One consisted of Abbotswood, Aware and Legacy associates and the other of essential visitors and private duty caregivers. I received the results this afternoon and I am very pleased to report that both pools were negative! That is fantastic news, and I greatly appreciate all of the precautions that you are taking to stay safe even as the positivity rate in Wake county continues to rise.
Please remember that due to the Christmas holiday, Monday, December 21st will be the only day of testing this week. All residents, essential visitors, private duty caregivers, and associates of Abbotswood, Aware and Legacy are expected to participate. Testing will take place from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm in the Club Room. Saliva samples can also be left at the front desk tonight and Sunday to be included in Monday’s pooled testing.
Being part of the frequent testing program provided by Abbotswood does not automatically make anyone less likely to get COVID-19, but it is crucial in our efforts to minimize the impact of the coronavirus in our community while maximizing the programs and social offerings available to our residents. Each round of testing either confirms the absence or quickly identifies the presence of COVID-19 and enables us to react quickly and appropriately for the health and well-being of our residents and associates. Your ongoing participation – especially during this busy holiday season – is crucial to protecting the safety of the “Abbotswood bubble.” Thank you for your faithful support of this process.
While we are excited about the vaccine rollout that has now begun, there is still no definite timetable for when Abbotswood will be able to offer vaccinations to our residents and associates. As there are developments to report, I will share them with you. In the meantime, please continue to keep yourself and those around you safe.
