March 23, 2020: Dear Residents, Families, and Associates of BridgePoint at Los Altos;
I wanted to let you know that we have had an Assisted Living resident receive a Presumptive Positive result for Covid-19 at Bridgepoint Los Altos. The resident’s family and healthcare authorities were notified immediately. At this time, the origin of exposure is unknown and on the advice of medical authorities, the resident remains quarantined in their apartment. In accordance with patient privacy laws, additional details about the patient and updates on their condition will be provided only by healthcare authorities.
The protocols that were put into place earlier, will remain in place. These include restricting visitors to essential visitors only, monitoring each resident and associate for temperature and respiratory symptoms daily, and increased disinfecting of all high-traffic/high-touch areas.
For your protection, we previously established a protocol whereby Assisted Living residents stayed in their apartments. At this point in time we will transition into a complete quarantine restricting all residents to their apartments until further notice. All meals and snacks will be delivered to resident apartments and all group Wellness activities will be discontinued and replaced with individual Wellness supervised and directed activities. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we modify our programs and services to meet our residents’ needs.
We are working with local county and state health authorities, as well as following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We are sending our thoughts and prayers to our beloved resident and their family and will continue to provide regular updates to residents, their family members and associates on what they can do to protect themselves and prevent the spread of the virus.
At Bridgepoint Los Altos, our top priority is and will always be the health and well-being of our residents and associates. We understand that you may have questions and concerns, I respectfully request that you contact me directly. I will continue to keep you informed with updated information as it becomes available.
Sincerely,
Maria Quintero
Executive Director
