Dear Residents, Families, and Associates of BridgePoint at Los Altos;
I would like to update you on the results from last week’s testing conducted by The Santa Clara Department of Health which included all associates and residents at BridgePoint Los Altos. We are pleased to report that all residents tested negative for COVID-19 last week. One associate, from our assisted living department, tested positive with no symptoms and will remain off work until cleared to return. Based on our previous testing, we have a total of 6 active cases which includes 5 associates and 1 resident. At this time, all who have tested positive are stable, sheltering at home, and expected to have a full recovery. The Department of Health will return Thursday June 18th to complete another round of testing for all associates and residents. The testing process and timing for results should be similar to last week and we can expect further testing until our community is completely cleared of active cases.
Community Response
While the news of active cases can be unsettling, I continue to be encouraged by our community’s response to the depths of this crisis. Residents have done their part to stay safe by sheltering-in-place, cooperating with daily wellness checks and adapting to new ways to stay connected with others. Our associates have been diligent with wearing PPE at work, keeping our community sanitized and meeting the needs of residents in safe and creative ways. Our families have been understanding of non-essential visitation and continue to show their love to residents through care packages, virtual visits, letters and phone calls. The protocols we have all upheld together, especially wearing masks, hand-washing, daily health monitoring, and social distancing have helped us keep our residents protected from the spread of COVID-19.
Safety
We will maintain our safety and sanitation protocols while promoting the overall wellbeing of our residents and staff. Please reach out if you have any questions, comments or concerns. I will send another update at the end of this week.
Sincerely,
Maria Quintero
Executive Director
