Dear Residents, Families and Associates of BridgePoint at Los Altos:
The Halloween spirit is in full effect here at BridgePoint. If you haven’t already, I highly encourage you to subscribe to our Instagram and Facebook to view an especially spooky short film. A special shout goes out to Jayden Bettencourt for using his creativity to showcase how our Environmental Services Team is keeping our residents, associates and guests safe.
As a reminder we had begun “pooled” testing for all residents, associates, and providers at the end of September. I am pleased to report that all results from last week’s tests were negative. Associates continue to be tested twice a week and most residents are tested once a week. Residents who leave the community routinely or often were added to a “high-risk pool” and are tested twice a week. Our routine providers and vendors will also be tested weekly. This enhanced testing cadence and proactive measures is unheard of in our industry and market. It also allows us to return to a closer to normal life while maintaining a bubble of safety. With this ongoing surveillance testing it eliminates the need for a quarantine period when a resident leaves the community. Enhanced testing and our commitment to our 4 pillars of safety which are – washing your hands frequently, complete our daily health screening and report when you are not feeling well, wear a mask for the entire duration you are in any common area or with other people and stay six feet physically distant will be essential in maintaining our new lifestyle. Below is the testing schedule for residents.
1st FLOOR RESIDENTS
Monday 10:00 – 11:30 am
OR 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm
2nd FLOOR RESIDENTS
Wednesday 10:00 – 11:30 am
OR 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm
As a reminder, residents must avoid eating, drinking and performing oral hygiene 1 hour before their test. Test times were specifically chosen to occur between meal times. If you are unable to provide a sample in the morning, an associate will return in the afternoon. If you are unable to provide a saliva sample, we will perform a nasal swab instead.
As of today, Santa Clara County’s positivity rate continues to trend down and is at 1.6%. We will continue to adjust and enhance the lifestyle offerings Bridgepoint at Los Altos is known for. We remain enthusiastic about our next phase but know it is a fluid environment and our lifestyle offerings, containment initiatives and safety restrictions will change from time to time based on the prevalence of COVID-19 in our community and Santa Clara County.
With that said, we are excited to see residents at the grand reopening of the Dining Room on Tuesday, October 27th! A separate communication letter will be delivered to residents to inform of changes to service and expectations. Each resident will also receive an individualized Meal Schedule that will be posted on the inside of their apartment door to serve as a reminder. Meal Schedules will also be provided to the Assisted Living Department so that Caregivers can remind residents and escort to and from meals if needed.
In addition to the Dining Room, we have also reopened the Library and Fitness Center. Books and equipment are disinfected throughout the day and hand sanitizers are placed at the entrances/exits.
Starting today, US mail will be delivered directly to resident mailboxes which are located on the 1st Floor near the Fitness Center. Residents may access their mailboxes using their mail key. If your mail key is lost, please contact the Front Desk for assistance.
Lastly, I wanted to remind residents of our Annual Halloween Spook-tacular Monster Walk! Come join us in the front parking lot on Friday, October 30th at 1:30 pm for food, drinks and music. Be sure to wear your costume for a chance to win some fun prizes!
We thank you for your confidence and partnership and we will continue to work diligently to keep our residents, families, and associates happy, healthy, and safe during these unprecedented times.
As always, stay safe, stay healthy.
Sincerely,
Maria Quintero
Executive Director
