Dear Residents, Families and Associates of BridgePoint at Los Altos:
As you already know, a pool of 1st floor residents and associates, not including care associates, tested positive on Sunday, November 15th. On November 18th, we completed naso-swab tests for each individual in this pool. As of this morning, we have yet to receive all results.
As we await the results from the naso-swab tests, we continue to conduct twice weekly pooled testing on all associates and weekly pooled testing for residents. All associates who work directly with residents are using N95 masks and face shields. Residents from the affected pool have been asked to self-quarantine until we receive follow up testing results and are able to identify and isolate the person(s) who tested positive. Because second floor residents tested negative in the last 2 pooled tests, they are not asked to self-quarantine.
What does it mean to self-quarantine? Out of an abundance of caution, we urge 1st floor residents to remain in their apartments until we are able to identify and isolate the person(s) who tested positive. Meals and services are delivered to these residents. Visits for first floor residents are suspended until further notice. Mail was delivered to first floor residents last night. With that said, it is a resident’s right to leave the community at their own risk. If a resident chooses to do so, they must sign out with the front desk. Please know that leaving the community at this time poses a significant risk of spreading COVID.
As we work to identify the person(s) who tested positive, associates will continue to enter your apartment to provide essential services. Please know that our associates are taking every precaution to contain the spread of COVID within the community.
Once we are able to identify the person(s) who tested positive, the person(s) and their family will be contacted immediately. Only the person(s) who tested positive must quarantine and all other residents and associates can resume normal activities. Please look out for further communication from me for updates on our current status.
This news is unsettling for most, especially as we approach Thanksgiving, but with our advanced testing methods, I am confident that we are able to quickly identify and isolate the positive person(s) and contain the spread of COVID within our community. I thank you for your confidence and partnership during this exceptional time. If you have any questions, kudos, comments or concerns please let me know.
As always, stay safe, stay healthy.
Sincerely,
Maria Quintero
Executive Director
