Dear Residents, Families, and Associates of Byron Park,
I would like to update you on that status of COVID-19 cases and other related information. As a reminder we recently identified an outbreak at Byron Park. Three test results from our 7/24/20 testing are unfortunately still pending. This includes 2 residents and 1 associate. Results from our 7/31/2020 testing are also still pending.
As of today, we have 11 active cases which include 3 associates and 8 residents. Five of the positive residents reside in our Assisted Living neighborhood. Three are in stable condition and sheltering in their apartment with mild symptoms or are asymptomatic. One resident in our assisted living neighborhood is receiving supportive services and continues to work through other underlying conditions and one resident is stable and returning to our community from a higher acuity setting. In our Independent Living Neighborhood, we have three asymptomatic residents who are sheltering in their apartment.
We are wishing our residents and associates a full and swift recovery. In partnership with Public Health we are looking to clear 10 of the active cases noted above by this Friday 8/7/2020.
With increased testing, we may see an increase in positive results, however, this information will greatly aid our fight against COVID-19 which remains prevalent around us. We will continue weekly testing until we are clear of COVID-19 for 2 consecutive weeks.
We know that upholding the four pillars of safety (masks, screening, social distancing, and handwashing/sanitation) coupled with frequent testing significantly reduces the risk of spread of COVID-19. We must continue to be vigilant with requiring the use of face masks for all associates at all times, residents when out of their apartments and highly restricting visitation for non-essential purposes. We also would like to remind all residents to shelter in place in their apartment and to continue to not visit each other during this time. We understand the sacrifices our residents, families and associates make every day to protect themselves and each other and appreciate everyone’s effort for the common good.
Our top priority is to contain spread, monitor those who have tested positive for a full recovery, and to keep our entire campus safe through diligence with safety protocols. If you have any questions, comments, kudos, or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Pastora
Executive Director
