Dear Residents, Families, and Associates of Byron Park,
I would like to update you on the status of COVID-19 cases at our community. As a reminder we had previously identified an outbreak at Byron Park and had been cleared of any known or suspected cases of COVID19 on 8/7/2020.
As of today, we have identified 1 active case of COVID19 in our community from our 8/21/20 test date. This resident is in stable condition and is sheltering in their apartment in our Independent living neighborhood. We will continue our weekly testing cadence in partnership with our new lab Genetworx tomorrow and Friday. Genetworx has a 48 turnaround for COVID19 test results and a summary of pending test results from Clarify Labs will be provided in our Friday update.
The protocols that we put into place earlier, remain in place. These include restricting visitors, monitoring each resident and associate for temperature and respiratory symptoms, suspending all meal service and activities, and increased disinfecting of all high-traffic/high-touch areas.
The resumption of outdoor dining, group wellness opportunities and masked and socially distant visitation for residents and their loved ones, fitness center and pool access can occur once we are clear of COVID-19 for 2 consecutive weeks as evidenced by testing. Our approach to loosen restrictions will continue to follow testing and prevalence data. We continue to be focused on balancing our resident’s social-emotional needs and measures to keep our community safe.
If you have any questions, comments, feedback or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out. I thank each of you for your continued support, partnership and commitment to our 4 pillars of safety which are – washing your hands frequently, complete our daily health screening and report when you are not feeling well, wear a mask for the entire duration you are in any common area or with other people and stay six feet physically distant.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Pastora
Executive Director
