Dear Residents, Families, and Associates of Byron Park,
Happy Hanukkah! We kicked off our December holidays with a beautiful reading and evening of celebration, music, delicious food and transformed our courtyard into a winter wonderland! Follow, like and subscribe to our Facebook and Instagram for photos and videos!
As a follow up to our previous communication, we continue to be clear of COVID19. We have completed 6 rounds and three weeks of testing from the previously identified single associate positive case. Due to our expansive testing strategy for early detection, as well as our COVID19 protocols and PPE standards, we were fortunate to avoid community spread. We will continue our twice a week (Monday and Thursday) testing cadence due to the prevalence of COVID19 in our state and county.
Many of you have reached out about the upcoming vaccine. We are happy to share that we have completed the necessary registration steps and have confirmed with our designated pharmacy (CVS) as well as the CDC and await further communication on confirmed timeline. While our community is in the first tier (Phase 1) there is a phased allocation of COVID19 vaccines. Our associates and assisted living residents are in Phase 1a and our Independent Living residents are in Phase 1c. I have listed two educational resources below for those of you that may be interested in learning more about the vaccine and strategy. As always, we will continue to communicate any changes or updates in a timely manner.

We encourage families to continue to visit safely this holiday season by participating in our individual COVID19 (PCR) saliva testing program we created for families and friends! While our holiday season may look a little different this year, we have the benefit of being able to enjoy the things we love together in the safety bubble that is Byron Park. This program provides you the ability to hug your loved one and enjoy a 2-hour visit in any of our common areas indoors and outdoors. We know that participation in our testing programs, along with proper social distancing, proper mask use, hand hygiene, and ongoing health monitoring, we can provide an excellent line of defense in the fight against Covid-19.
We thank you for your commitment, confidence, and partnership. If you have questions, comments, or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Pastora
Executive Director
