Dear Residents, Families, and Associates of Cedarwood at Sandy;
As promised when we began this journey through Covid-19 together, I will continue to update you as conditions change or as is the case with this message – we have news to share.
We learned today that a part time associate in our dining department has tested positive for Covid-19. This individual last worked at Cedarwood on Tuesday and has not been in the community since that time. We have investigated potential exposure to other residents or associates and due to diligent use of face masks (and the rest of our Covid protocols) we believe that the risk of infection to others is minimal. Of course, we will continue to monitor the health of all residents and associates daily. This associate will not return to work until they are fully cleared with negative test results.
As a result of this new information, we will suspend all wellness activities and ask residents to self-isolate in their apartments and all common areas throughout the community will be closed. Residents will be allowed out into the Courtyards providing that masks are worn and social-distancing is practiced. Our intention is to keep the outside Conversation Stations and Party Porches open (so long as all protocols are followed).
It is our hope that we can review the situation in two weeks and return back to the operating conditions that existed prior to this news. I will continue to update you if there is any news to share. The safety of our residents and associates remains our top priority and will continue to balance quality of life with the need to keep everyone as safe as possible.
Thank you for your continued support as we navigate through these unusual circumstances together.
Sincerely,
Jesse Buntjer
Executive Director
