Dear Residents, Families, and Associates of Cypress Court;
I would like to update you on the status of COVID-19 cases and other related information. We were recently notified that a second associate from our Assisted Living Department tested positive for COVID-19. Aligned with CDC guidance we have completed a tracing review and notified any individuals who may have had unprotected exposure. Both associates are currently symptomatic and will self-isolate at home until cleared to return to work. Please keep them in your positive thoughts as we wait for their safe return.
We have recently partnered with a lab to help us perform ongoing surveillance testing at our community. The first testing event helped us identify these associates who at the time had no other indicators or symptoms of having the virus. In response to these two positive cases, we are testing all associates this Thursday July 30th and will send an update when we receive these results. Additionally, we will test all residents on Thursday, July 30th starting at 12:30 p.m. for the first and second floors and 2:00 p.m for the third and fourth floors. A separate flyer will be sent out to residents for the testing times on Thursday. We will continue our surveillance testing community wide to include associates, essential providers, and residents selected at random every 14 days thereafter. We intend to conduct this type of testing for the foreseeable future to help us identify and respond to any new cases to help keep our community safe.
We know that upholding the four pillars of safety (masks, screening, social distancing, and handwashing/sanitation) coupled with frequent testing significantly reduces the risk of spread of COVID-19. With increased testing, we may see an increase in positive results, however, this information will greatly aid our fight against COVID-19 which remains prevalent around us. As such, we continue to be vigilant with requiring the use of face masks for all associates at all times, residents when out of their apartments and highly restricting visitation for non-essential purposes. We understand the sacrifices our residents, families and associates make every day to protect themselves and each other and appreciate everyone’s effort for the common good. Our top priority is to contain spread, monitor those who have tested positive for a full recovery, and to keep our entire campus safe through diligence with safety protocols.
