Dear Residents and Families of Drake Terrace;
I wanted to let to let you that a resident of Drake Terrace has received a presumptive positive test result for Covid-19 in the Assisted Living section of the community. The resident’s family and healthcare authorities were notified immediately. At this time, the origin of exposure is not known and the resident remains out of the building. In the event that the resident is returned to Drake Terrace, they will be quarantined with dedicated staff in full personal protective equipment. In accordance with patient privacy laws, additional details about the patient and updates on their condition will be provided only by healthcare authorities.
The protocols that we put into place earlier, remain in place. These include restricting visitors, monitoring each resident and associate for temperature and respiratory symptoms, utilizing social-distancing for all residents gathering for meals and activities, and increased disinfecting of all high-traffic/high-touch areas.
We continue the protocol of ensuring that residents quarantine in their apartments, and any associates who were directly exposed will self-quarantine at home during this time. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we modify our programs and services to meet our residents’ needs.
We are working with local and state health authorities, as well as following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We are sending our thoughts and prayers to our beloved resident and their family and will continue to provide regular updates to residents, their family members and associates on what they can do to protect themselves and prevent the spread of the virus.
At Drake Terrace, our top priority is and will always be the health and well-being of our residents and associates. We understand that you may have questions and concerns. I will continue to keep you informed with updated information as it becomes available.
Sincerely,
John Meyer
Executive Director
