Dear Residents, Families, and Associates of Drake Terrace,
It has been about six weeks since we began sheltering-in-place at Drake Terrace and in Marin County. Like many of you, we have settled into a new rhythm of day-to-day tasks and continue to find creative ways to maximize each day. Our team continues to deliver services as safely and efficiently as possible. Our residents are doing their part to stay safe and to partner with us to meet their needs in new or different ways. We have come together in this fight against COVID-19, and I am grateful for everyone’s support and camaraderie! Currently, we have four active COVID-19 cases among residents living in memory care (previously reported). Fortunately, our two associates who tested positive have fully recovered and were cleared to return to work. There are no new cases at Drake Terrace. Containment protocols continue as follows:
-Monitor all residents and staff daily for any symptoms including fever. We offer extended sick leave pay and will not allow any staff to work who have symptoms or known exposure to COVID-19.
-Quarantine protocols are in place with all residents sheltering in place.
-Our staff use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) specific to position to keep residents and coworkers safe, and to reduce the risk of exposure.
-Single-Point of entry and visitation is only allowed for essential visitors based on end-of-life or medical care. -Designated staff serve memory care without crossover to other neighborhoods
-Sanitation of common areas and surfaces every two hours 24/7. Doorknobs, elevators, hand rails are continually disinfected. All packages are received outside of our front door, disinfected and delivered to residents by our staff.
-Meals, snacks, and activity programs are delivered for in-apartment enjoyment daily.
-We have a daily support call with the Marin Health Dept. and our licensing agency. They assure us that we are following the proper protocols and are readily available to provide additional support if needed.
Other Notes: To add to our communications, I will be recording updates for residents and families via a private message service. You may hear my messages at your convenience by calling (415)-745-9575. The messages will be brief and status-oriented. I will continue sending written messages twice per week at a minimum. Also, please find the enclosed schedule which reflects daily time-frames for resident services which you may find helpful.
We hope everyone is happy and healthy at home. Have a great week!
Sincerely,
John Meyer
