Dear Residents, Associates and Families of Drake Terrace:
Thank you for your support during these unprecedented times. We understand the impact that this pandemic has had on your quality of life, and we will continue to make operational decisions that balance that quality of life with our highest priority of keeping our residents and associates as safe as possible. This notice is to inform you of our community’s COVID-19 status and the potential for community-wide testing in partnership with the Marin Department of Health.
We were notified today that an associate from our Assisted Living Department tested positive for COVID-19. This associate was tested at their secondary employer, another senior living community, as part of a community-wide test facilitated by the Department of Health. We have reviewed and notified any persons believed to have had unprotected exposure with this individual which is currently one associate and no residents. At this time, we have one active case and this associate will shelter-in-place until cleared to return to the community.
As many of you may know, the Marin Department of Health has recently announced their intent to test residents and associates of all Skilled Nursing and Senior Living communities throughout the region. In concert with that announcement, we have been notified that in the coming week Covid-19 testing may be conducted by Public Health officials at our community. We are mandated to comply with this request and will do everything we can to minimize the disruption that this may cause.
As we learn more, we will provide you with all the information that we have. Until then, thank you for helping to keep everyone as safe as possible by keeping facemasks on when outside your apartments, conducting frequent handwashing, and maintaining social distancing whenever necessary. I will update the community “information hotline” with updates as well.
