Dear Residents, Families, and Associates of Drake Terrace; Happy Father’s Day!
Thank you for your support during these unprecedented times. We understand the impact that this pandemic has had on your quality of life, and we will continue to make operational decisions that balance that quality of life with our highest priority of keeping our residents and associates as safe as possible.
Kaiser and Marin Public Health came and tested all staff, assisted living residents and connections/ memory care residents for Covid on Wednesday 6/10 and Thursday 6/11 at 9:30 am. We have received the test results from Kaiser and Public Health. They all came back negative.
Elevator update for Assisted Living
The Assisted Living building elevator is now operational. It has been completely remodeled and it is beautiful. Thank you for your patience during this time.
Family Visits and Essential Appointments
There have been many questions surrounding family visits and medical appointments during the covid pandemic. Much research and thought has gone into the CDC Guidelines and local Public Health directives. Drake Terrace has chosen to follow the Covid CDC protocols for everyone’s safety. Since day one, we have tried our best to keep residents and staff as safe as possible by putting these protocols and procedures in place. By following these guidelines we are sure they have helped us keep from further spreading of the virus. We appreciate your understanding during these difficult and unusual times.
Policy
Our policy is to allow any essential medical appointment residents may have. We have also allowed essential one on one family visits by appointment outside of the building with social distancing and masks worn. At this time all inside family visits are still prohibited for the safety of all. We have also encouraged residents to go for short walks outside to absorb vitamin D from the sun. Also, to help with cognitive stimulation, this week we will begin scenic drives with social distancing inside our community bus. Group exercise classes, happy hour, and bingo have all started as well and we are excited to be able to gather in small groups once again. Liza, our Wellness Director, can answer any further questions you may have. Feel free to reach out to her at her extension 2708.
Thank you for helping to keep everyone as safe as possible by keeping face masks on when outside apartments, conducting frequent hand washing, and maintaining social distancing whenever necessary. I will update the community “information hot line” with updates as well. I will continue to record updates for residents and families via a private message service. You may hear my messages at your convenience by calling (415)-745-9575. The messages will be brief and status oriented.
Best Regards,
John Meyer
