Dear Residents, Associates, and Family Members of Drake Terrace:
I would like to update you on the status of last week’s COVID-19 testing. We completed testing on Saturday 9/5/2020. Our new lab partner has delivered quick results and we only have a few test results pending.
As of today, we have identified 2 COVID-19 positive cases. One associate from our housekeeping department and another from our assisted living department. One is asymptomatic and the other was symptomatic. Both associates have been placed off work and will not return until cleared by Public Health. We currently do not have any active cases among our residents.
As Marin County strives to keep a low positivity rate, they are imposing stronger recommendations to avoid any type of spread in the community. This means that although residents did not technically meet the exposure criteria set by CDC and Public Health they still required any residents assisted by the associate to shelter in their apartment until a second negative case is received for the residents. I have personally notified all resident families or responsible parties if their loved one was assisted by the associate and our care team notified the residents. If you have not been contacted you or your loved one was not assisted by this associate.
We will continue to facilitate weekly testing until no positives are detected at which point, we will resume surveillance testing of 25% our community each week.
Thank you again for all your patience and understanding. As always if you have any comments, compliments or concerns, please feel free to reach out.
Sincerely,
Ricardo Romero
Executive Director
