Dear Residents, Families, Friends, and Associates of Emerald Court;
As a follow up to my letter to you on July 21st when I alerted you that a resident in the Sapphire building had tested positive for Covid-19, I am writing today to provide an update. Today we learned that a Resident Assistant who provided assistance to that resident has now tested positive for Covid-19. This associate will remain out of the community until they are cleared of Covid-19 and have tested negative.
Following the initial positive case (on the 21st), we discussed the situation with the Orange County Department of Health. Their recommendation was to test any individuals who may have had exposure to this resident, but they did not recommend widescale testing at that time. With this new case, we will follow the Department’s recommendation (which may include widescale testing of the entire community). As you may have read, the City of Anaheim is among some of the highest New Case areas for Covid-19 in Orange County, and for that reason we must all work together by washing hands frequently, wearing masks 100% of the time (when out of your apartment) and maintaining social distancing at all times.
We remain very vigilant in our screening of associates and residents monitoring health throughout the day and will remain open and transparent with you as conditions change. We are continuing to require that all residents in Sapphire self-isolate in their apartments for two weeks. We will discontinue all wellness activities in Sapphire during this time. As things improve we will reassess and communicate any changes to these policies. Thank you for your continuing support. I will continue to keep you informed.
