Dear Residents, Associates, Families, and Friends of Emerald Court;
As you know, we continue with our State-mandated Covid-19 testing. This protocol includes testing all residents and all associates every two weeks. Recently we were advised that an Independent Living resident has tested positive for Covid-19. This resident remains out of the community and will remain isolated until they are clear.
We will continue with all residents self-isolating in their apartments and suspending all small group activities until we complete a testing cycle with 100% negative test results. Residents may wear a mask and maintain social-distancing while checking on mail or walking outside, but please refrain from congregating during this time.
We’ve also received some questions about residents who do not want to be tested. While associate testing is required, we cannot force residents to be tested. If a resident refuses the state-mandated test we will require that resident to quarantine in their apartment for two weeks. We respect a resident’s right to refuse to be tested, but we must also ensure the safety of all residents and associates.
Thank you for your continued support during these challenging times. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like to discuss further!
Sincerely,
Patricia Gustin
Executive Director
