We are happy to announce that all testing results from the Monday, 12/21 PCR Swab COVID-19 Test came back negative!
We currently have one Independent Living resident who remains in isolation due to being diagnosed COVID-positive during a previous round of testing. As shared in our last update, this resident is asymptomatic and feeling okay. Also, we do not believe that there was any direct exposure via this resident to anyone else within the community. We are very thankful to this resident for communicating with us fully throughout this process as we were able to determine that the resident had recently visited off site and had direct exposure with a family member who since the visit was diagnosed COVID-positive. Because of this knowledge we were able to initiate precautions and self-isolation procedures even before receiving the testing results. We thank everyone for sharing your well-wishes and prayers for this resident.
As we remain amid the holidays, and the hustle and bustle that they bring, it is very important for us all to remain vigilant in our safety efforts. Proper social distancing, hand hygiene and ongoing health monitoring, making safe decisions about where to go out, along with mask use are all vitally important for your own safety and to help protect others. Masks are required to be worn properly at all time by all associates, essential visitors, and residents when outside of their apartments. If we observe residents who are unable to comply with mask wearing and social distancing, we will ask them to return to their apartments.
Due to the back-to-back holiday weekends/lab closures we will only be testing schedule once next week; we will resume 2x/week testing the week after. The schedule for the next two weeks is as follows:
THURSDAY, 12/31, MONDAY, 1/4 & THURSDAY, 1/7
8a-9:30a—Assisted Living Residents– testing will be conducted DOOR TO DOOR
9:30a-11:30a—Independent Living Residents, Associates & Essential Visitors* in the Chesapeake Dining Room
*Essential Visitors: To ensure your test can be completed we ask that you bring your social security number and your insurance cards with you to the testing if you did not do so last week.
At this time, I want to once again say THANK YOU to all of you for being a part of my life over the past three years. This year has certainly been a huge challenge, but I would not have wanted to be on this journey with any other group of people. I truly believe the challenges that we have faced together has made FCI an even stronger and tighter-knit community. I am forever grateful to all of you for the support and love you have shared with me. You will remain in my heart and prayers as I will be thinking about FCI and all the amazing people here every day. I am putting it on record now that I will be returning when FCI has its first post-COVID cookout as I would never want to miss that fun and celebration! I will miss all of you, and I look forward to staying in touch.
