Dear La Posada Residents, Family, & Associates,
Our country and the State of Florida continue to make significant strides with respect to administering vaccinations for the COVID-19 disease. Each vaccination puts us closer to regaining aspects of our daily lives that have been disrupted during the pandemic. This is very exciting!
As a result of the increasing vaccination rates and the scientific understanding of the effectiveness of the vaccines, on May 13, 2021, the Centers for Disease Control communicated updated guidance on mask-use for fully vaccinated people. The updated guidance permits fully vaccinated people to stop wearing masks and to participate in indoor activities, large or small, without wearing a mask or physical distancing. Although this is a monumental step in the right direction, the updated guidance does not apply to residents of long-term care facilities, senior living communities or CCRCs—which includes La Posada.
At La Posada, we are following the fast-changing protocol developments very closely. Since the start of the pandemic, we have been focused on using official data to make decisions as well as applying Federal and local guidance to our safety protocols. La Posada will be much slower to make changes to our COVID-19 safety protocols primarily due to the population of the residents we serve. At this time, all residents, associates, and visitors must continue to wear face masks while in common areas, except when eating, regardless of their vaccination status.
We will continue to monitor the protocol developments and communicate them accordingly. Thank you for your continued support, and please let me know if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Brad Cadiere
Executive Director
