The Kensington is a great assisted living facility, their staff is very attentive and are always looking for ways to educated the community. The Kensington at Walnut Creek is a truly beautiful community, beginning the moment you walk into the lobby. The space feels warm and elegant, with a dining area that looks as though it was plucked straight out of Napa Valley, alongside a cozy library and inviting sitting areas that encourage connection and calm. My grandmother moved to The Kensington in 2006 and lived there for a number of years. She had a spacious apartment with a balcony, which made all the difference for her. While she was understandably sad to leave her home, being able to sit outside, listen to the birds, and enjoy fresh air helped her feel grounded and truly at home. Over time, she grew to love life at The Kensington, and our family had tremendous peace of mind knowing she was not only safe—but genuinely happy. More recently, I participated in a virtual memory care training that The Kensington provides for their professional staff and senior care related professionals in the community. The training was incredibly in-depth and thoughtfully done. I walked away with a deeper understanding of what individuals living with dementia experience each day. It also brought back memories of my grandmother and some of the behaviors we saw during the final years of her journey. My initial reaction was sorrow for what she had been living with, but that quickly turned into relief—relief knowing she was surrounded by professionals at The Kensington who truly understood her challenges. The staff are not only highly trained in care, but deeply empathetic, compassionate, and committed to providing dignified, person-centered care. I’ve had the pleasure of visiting The Kensington at Walnut Creek several times while exploring top-tier senior living communities in the East Bay, and I can confidently say—it truly stands out. The facility is spotless, thoughtfully designed, and offers an inviting layout that fosters both activities and social connection. What impressed me most is the genuine care and compassion evident throughout the community. From the warm, attentive staff to their commitment to ongoing training, it’s clear that they prioritize understanding the unique needs and challenges seniors face. The Kensington at Walnut Creek is a gem in senior living. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a team that truly cares—warm, attentive, and always ready to help. The updated rooms are spacious, beautifully designed with a neutral color palette, and thoughtfully laid out to support both comfort and independence. The lifestyle here is vibrant and engaging. Whether residents prefer quiet relaxation or active social calendars, there’s something for everyone. The expansive restaurant is a standout—bright, welcoming, and staffed by a culinary team that delivers delicious meals with a personal touch. Dining options range from elegant sit-down service to casual bites at the bistro or shaded patio, to weekly 'happy hours' making every meal feel like a choice, not a routine. Outside, the amenities are just as impressive. Manicured gardens maintained by the residents and a Master Gardener, walking paths, and cozy seating areas invite residents to enjoy fresh air and sunshine. It’s clear that wellness and joy are built into every corner of the community. I had the pleasure of touring with Athena and her team: Natasha and Cheryl Lynn.  When finished, we snuggled down in the resident library with refreshing iced tea, surrounded by shelves of wonderful books and a cozy fire in the hearth. I have so many great things to say about the Kensington! They truly took care of us and the customer service is some of the best I’ve experienced. The Kensington is a wonderful place if you or your loved ones needs a little assistance in life. They have great staff that are around 24 hrs a day. The care that they provide is top notch. If they have memory issues then it also has a facility that can provide that care.

The Kensington in Walnut Creek is like an extended family for all the residents.  My Mother Moved from a difficult situation back in April after my Father passed away and my entire family has been so impressed by the entire staffs caring and dedication.  My Mother was grieving terribly when she first arrived and the staff has gone above and beyond to help her through this time.  There are so many choices in the Bay area for retirement and memory care living, we toured 5 facilities in and around Walnut Creek and The Kensington really stood out.  The residents all look so happy, enjoying being out and about with its beautiful surroundings.  The gardens are well planned with many sitting area's and tables to share Picnic's with visiting family along with a Grand Dinning Room that has just opened for family members to enjoy as well. There is a Grand Piano in the entryway which my Mother enjoys playing daily.  Thank you to everyone at the Kensington for welcoming my Mom and taking such good care of her!
