Dear Residents, Family, and Associates of Magnolia Glen,
In my most recent communication, I shared with you that Magnolia Glen had one resident with active COVID-19. The resident was admitted to a local hospital and treated for symptoms. It is with a heavy heart that I share that we have been notified by the family that the resident did in fact pass away due to complications from COVID-19. We are deeply saddened by the news and ask that you keep this family in your thoughts during this difficult time of loss.
As a result of learning the news of the active COVID-19 case, Magnolia Glen immediately began the contact tracing exercise and initiated 34 PCR esophageal COVID-19 tests for people who were in contact with this resident during the look back period. I am happy to report all 34 PCR esophageal tests have returned negative. In addition, we completed another 248 pooled saliva COVID-19 tests during the course of this week and all results returned negative as well. At this point, we believe Magnolia Glen is COVID-19 free.
I am grateful to each of you for the countless sacrifices and extra efforts on your part to protect our community. Back in March, I do not think many of us could foresee that 8 months later we would still be so significantly impacted by the coronavirus on a daily basis. Your perseverance and ongoing vigilance are greatly appreciated and still needed as we move forward with this together.
Sincerely,
Jaime Pacheco
Executive Director
