The developer of the proposed Cardinal at North Hills, a retirement community that’s been on the drawing board for several years, has begun site work for the project’s first phase of construction off of Six Forks Road and will host a formal ground-breaking ceremony on April 22.
The Cardinal will be Raleigh’s first licensed continuing-care retirement community, or CCRC, that will offer a month-to-month rental format versus the typical for-sale condominium option.
It will have 165 independent living residences, plus 60 on-site, private apartments licensed for assisted living, memory care and nursing care. The project, located on the south end of the North Hills Park District, is being developed by and will be managed by California-based Kisco Senior Living.
