Dear Residents, Families, and Associates of Park Plaza;
I am writing to you today to inform you that through our process of proactive surveillance testing of residents and staff we have identified a resident who tested positive for Covid-19. This resident is asymptomatic and will remain isolated in their apartment (with our team using full PPE). Additionally, a resident who went out of the community for a medical procedure was tested there and tested negative. Interestingly, when we tested this resident last week, we learned (while they were out of the community) that last week’s test was positive. We are not sure if we tested during the tail end of their Covid infection or if there was a testing irregularity. In either case, this resident has tested a second time “negative”, so they are considered “clear” of Covid.
We are committed to keeping all residents and associates as safe as possible and will continue to test all associates and all residents every two weeks (or immediately if symptoms have been identified). Once we have completed two complete cycles with no positive test results we will revert to the Kisco protocol of 25% of staff tested every two weeks (allowing for any residents to “opt in” if they’d like. For now we ask that all residents self-isolate in their apartments and we have suspended small group activities until the current positive resident is completely cleared.. Our wellness team will work to come up with creative ways to keep residents engaged and safe!
Dining will continue to provide In-Apartment dining until we have tested through multiple cycles with zero positive cases identified.
Thank you for your ongoing support, and please contact any member of the Park Plaza team with any questions.
Sincerely,
Bruce Hoggan
Executive Director
