Good afternoon everyone,
We have just completed day one of the vaccine clinic and most everything went well. We have approximately 170 people who have been vaccinated. The balance of the individuals wishing to have the vaccine will have their opportunity tomorrow, Friday the 22nd.
I have received many positive comments from the residents on their experience. They were all very excited to receive their vaccine.
I want to thank the team here at Park Terrace for doing a great job in managing the process and making the clinic such a success!
We have another day tomorrow to finish the first group of people. Individuals who could not receive the vaccine at this time will have the opportunity on February 11th and 12th. During this second set of clinic dates, everyone who got the shot in January will receive their booster. We have all the paperwork and will release to those wanting it after their booster has been administered.
A reminder, people receiving their fist vaccine shot are not protected from the virus for at least ten days, and then it is only about 55% effective. It is 2 -3 weeks after the booster that the vaccine reaches maximum efficacy. So please do not burn your masks and run through the streets, yet. Let’s all practice our protocols and procedures for a while longer.
Stay safe and healthy
