Good afternoon everyone,
The weather is finally warming up, hopefully not too much… and it is great to see more families coming to visit.
Mother’s Day is next Sunday, May 9th. Lunch is from 11:15am – 1:30pm. Please let us know if you will be joining us or taking your loved one out. Our guest policy is still in place.
We have received the responses from the family survey, and I am very happy to report that we had 91% of families respond! I believe it is important to get feedback on what you feel we do well and where we need to improve.
To summarize what many of you felt we did exceptionally well: frequent and open communication; listening to concerns and acting quickly on those that needed immediate attention; positive attitudes of the staff and the care and compassion they showed with your loved ones; frequent covid testing that was carried out; putting the safety of the residents first; and appreciation of having the visitation areas available.
Where can we improve? to name a few standouts: more communication; healthy food choices; not being placed in voicemail; wanting weekly emails; and having monthly activities calendars sent to families.
We have already begun to address areas where improvements can be made. Activities Calendars for all areas of the community are now being sent to families.
I understand the importance and need to be able to speak with someone regarding care and clinical needs. We have purchased cell phones for the Medication Room and Lead Care Givers to minimize any calls being directed to voice mail.
It was noticed that “communication” was both an area where we did very well and also one where we can improve. We do much of our communication through email. We will be reaching out to you to ensure we have your email address (if you are reading this, I know we already have yours…) so that you are kept up to date with what is happening in the community.
We recently hosted a Garden Club luncheon, and the residents appreciated the lighter and more flavorful menu. We are looking at incorporating this style of food into our dining menus. We are also working on changing menus more frequently in both dining areas.

After what we have all been through this past year, I feel we can now move forward with fresh ideas to make the most of our lives.
