Dear Residents, Families, and Associates of Park Terrace,
Throughout these unprecedented times I have committed to keeping you informed and providing updates as they occur.
Aligned with that commitment, today I am writing to inform you that one of our Resident Assistants in Assisted Living has tested positive for Covid19 and another associate with whom they carpooled has shown symptoms and we are awaiting test results. Both associates have had limited exposure to residents and have been wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). While we believe that the risk to others is minimal, we will continue our vigilance of frequent Health Monitoring and will inform the appropriate person if any resident personally interacted with this associate. We will follow our protocols and ensure that this associate remains at home until they are completely cleared of this disease.
I recognize the need for some residents to go for a walk and I am allowing a few residents at a time to do so. This is for walk only and facemasks and social distancing will be used. I am not allowing residents to come into common areas to sit.
This event is a reminder for all of us that the threat of Covid19 remains very real. While many States are loosening restrictions, we will remain vigilant in prioritizing the health and safety of our residents and associates.
As always I will continue to bring you any updates on any developments. In the meantime, it is critical that we continue to self-isolate in apartments, wash hands frequently, wear facemasks, and ensure proper social-distancing (at least 6′ apart at all times).
Thank you for your continued support as we navigate through these unusual circumstances together.
Sincerely,
Geno Koehler
Executive Director
