Good afternoon everyone,
The Governor has just enacted the Regional Stay at Home Order effective at 12:59pm today in an effort to slow the rising number of the Corona virus cases. This was triggered by the available ICU beds in our region (Southern California) falling below the 15% mark. This Order will remain in place for three weeks. The ICU bed availability will be continuously monitored and dictate any further changes.
How does this impact Park Terrace?
Effective this afternoon, we will close the Hair Salons and Fitness Center. Today will temporarily be the last day for family members to come into the community to visit loved ones. Entrance into the community will now be limited to essential workers.
All other activities and dining within the community will continue as they are today.
Families coming to visit through The Porch and The Secret Garden remain welcome with appropriate PPE and following our protocols. I am hearing of some families coming to the community by the resident’s patio. This is placing the resident and the community at high risk and I am encouraging everyone to utilize the venues we have set up for visitation and exchange of care packages. This is the best way to minimize the spread of the virus.
We have Telehealth offices available with our Nurses assistance to minimize the need for leaving the community.
Residents leaving the community for any reason will be self-isolating for a minimum of 7 days upon return.
The effort to keep the residents and staff safe here at Park Terrace is dependent upon everyone doing their part to follow the protocols, policies, and procedures we have set forth. We have done well thus far, and I appreciate everyone’s efforts and cooperation in making this happen. I understand the sacrifices you are making this year and it is now more difficult than ever before with the holidays upon us.
Together, we can continue to keep the community vibrant with activities and dining venues for our residents. I will keep you updated as I learn more.
Stay safe and healthy
