Good afternoon everyone,
I have just been given an Order by the OC Health Care Agency that upon having a positive CoVID case from either an employee or resident we are to immediately cancel all communal dining and indoor communal activities within 24 hours. It is also strongly recommended that we cancel these activities without a positive case. The Order will be lifted if the positive cases in Orange County fall below 8 cases/100,000 persons and will be reinstated if the cases rise above the 8 positive cases/100,000 persons. This Order may be enforced by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
The reason for the Order is due to the concerns relating to the escalating number of positive cases and the risk of overwhelming the ability of the hospitals to deliver healthcare to County residents suffering from COVID and from other illnesses requiring hospital care.
The Order does state that an RCFE (Park Terrace) shall be exempt from this Order upon completion of the initial round of COVID vaccination by residents and employees.
This stated, I do not have a date for the initial round of vaccinations at this time.
I want to inform you that two of our associates have tested positive for CoVID, therefore we will be canceling all communal dining and activities beginning with breakfast tomorrow, Thursday December 17, 2020. All meals will be served through room service.
The spread of the virus and risk of acquiring are continuing to rise. We are talking daily with the team on wearing PPE and practicing protocols both at work and outside of the community.
We will continue to do some activities outside as weather dictates and The Porch and The Secret Garden will continue to be available at this time.
Residents may move about freely throughout the community; we are just not gathering for organized activities or meals. Our in-house TV channel is still in full force with exercise classes and regular programming.
Thank you for helping in maintaining protocols and procedures to keep us all safe.
I will keep you updated as I learn more.
Stay safe and healthy
