Good afternoon everyone,
June is many things! And this year the longest day of the year, the first day of Summer, Father’s Day AND our, Park Terrace’s 21st Birthday are all on the same day! Sunday, June 20th. We are celebrating with barbecue food, we cannot yet do the actual barbecue; however that is not stopping us from serving some of your favorites, like Barbecue Brisket, Baby Back Ribs, Fried Chicken, Baked Beans, Macaroni and Cheese, and Mashed Potatoes. Oh! and don’t forget the birthday cake! I am working on the chef for Brats and Beer in the afternoon…
Let’s see, the latest on CoVID precautions: We are keeping our current policy in place for associates, family members, guests, visitors, vendors, and healthcare service providers who, while in the community, will be required to wear masks. PCR testing will continue on a bi-weekly basis at this time.
There is one change. Wearing a mask for residents is now voluntary.
This gradual move back to some kind of normalcy may feel at times to be taking too long; however, we are taking precautions and recommendations from all the appropriate agencies to make our comeback in the safest possible manner.
I appreciate all your patience while we journey though this process.
For the safety of our residents, associates, and to provide and maintain a workplace free of recognized hazards, Kisco, our company, has made it mandatory for all employees to be vaccinated. Park Terrace staff will be fully vaccinated by August 7th.
A new challenge we face, along with many other businesses, is hiring new employees. Some individuals are choosing to remain unemployed while collecting a check from the federal relief program. This is compounded with many businesses coming out of the pandemic and now needing to hire people. I’m sure you have noticed the “Now Hiring” signs in front of many businesses. Some are noting hiring bonus’ and higher pay rates in an effort to bring on new employees.
To remain competitive in the market, we are reviewing an adjustment to our wages in order to retain and attract talent.
Moving along… The city has posted signage that Buena Suerte will be closed from June 7th through the 18th, effectively blocking the front drive into our community. The city should be providing an access map on their website soon.
Thank you for allowing us to serve you and your loved ones.
