Sagewood residents and families,
I wanted to send another update before the weekend. Today, we had two additional residents test positive for COVID. This is in addition to the four residents who tested positive earlier this week. In total, we have received six positive COVID test results. The four residents who tested positive earlier this week have been transferred to a designated COVID rehab facility. The two residents who we received positive test results on today will be transferred to the designated rehab first thing tomorrow morning.
This designated rehab is an option Utah created early in the COVID process and offers a great solution to care for those who have tested positive and also assists to prevent the spread within a community.
The families/responsible parties of these residents have all been contacted. I want to thank them for their support. As we’ve discussed the option of transferring to this rehab, they have all been very understanding and on board with doing all we can to seek the best treatment and keeping our residents safe here at Sagewood.
We just finished up testing for all residents and associates with the Department of Health. Results will be received within the next few days. Due to the positive COVID test results in our community, we will be conducting weekly testing for all associates and residents living in Assisted Living and Memory Care. This testing will continue until we have two consecutive weeks of zero positive tests. Testing for those in Independent Living is available for those interested. The testing is done at no cost to our residents or associates and is a great resource provided by the Department of Health and the Utah National Guard.
Thank you all so much for your support. This has been a challenging week, but we have an amazing team who is working tirelessly together to care for our residents. The residents, families and associates of Sagewood are the best! Please reach out to me if you have any questions.
