Dear Residents and Families of The Cardinal,
We have been busy preparing for our COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Tuesday, February 2nd and we anticipate vaccinating over 500 individuals (residents, Cardinal associates, and 3rd party providers). All residents should have completed their consent forms this week and received their scheduled appointment time for Tuesday’s clinic. If you have not completed your consent form, please stop by the front desk anytime before Monday at 3:00pm to do so. Residents will need to bring their COVID-19 vaccination card with them to the clinic. If you have misplaced yours, we will provide you with a copy of your card when you come to the clinic.
We are thrilled to report that all of our testing efforts this week have yielded negative results. We will continue with individual testing for Independent Living residents for one more week. We ask all IL residents to come to the Art Studio on Monday, February 1st for testing. If we have another week of negative results, we will resume group pooled testing in IL every Monday. Healthcare residents and Cardinal associates will continue to be tested twice weekly (Mondays and Thursdays) through February 12th. 3rd party providers will be tested weekly on Wednesdays moving forward. There will no longer be a testing clinic in the Art Studio on Tuesdays.
We continue to receive many questions about what life at The Cardinal will look like after we are all vaccinated. We are just as excited as you are for things to change and we are currently working with our Cardinal Management Team and Operations Support Team at Kisco on what our “new normal” will look like post vaccination. We do not have all of the answers right now but hope to have some exciting announcements over the next few weeks as we venture into our new normal in 2021. Please stay tuned for more information.
Construction is officially underway for The Cardinal Expansion and we are very excited to share the progress updates with you. For your safety, please adhere to caution signs and fencing around the back courtyard and patio access. Tom Ford will be holding four information sessions about The Cardinal Expansion on Thursday, February 4th at 1:00pm, 2:00pm, 3:00pm, and 4:00pm. These sessions will last approximately 30 minutes. Please call the front desk to sign up if you are interested in learning more. We will record one of these meetings for those who cannot attend on Thursday.
We will host a virtual groundbreaking event for The Cardinal Expansion on Thursday, February 18th at 10:00am. While we cannot have the large event we had originally planned a year ago, we are looking forward to sharing in the excitement with you virtually. A formal invitation with information on how to participate will be delivered to you soon.
New MADE (Making a Difference Every Day) cards are available at the front desk and can now be emailed to you for your convenience. MADE cards are an excellent way to recognize our associates for outstanding performance. We would love to hear from you on how an associate made a difference for you and provided you with exemplary service. Please reach out to Mary Casey or Tom Ford if you would like to receive an electronic copy of these MADE cards.
The Pub will re-open next Wednesday, February 3rd. The Pub will be open between the hours of 11:00am – 5:30pm. We will no longer reserve days of the week for each floor. Residents may call the catering line at 984-344-3983 from 9:30am – 11:30am to make a reservation. We ask that reservations be made a day in advance and reservations will be made on a first come, first serve basis. Until we begin reopening more dining venues, we ask that residents only reserve one seating per week to allow everyone the opportunity to dine in The Pub. More exciting announcements from the Dining Services Team will be announced soon.
We value your feedback and want to hear from you on how we are doing. The Cardinal will kick off its 1st Resident Satisfaction Survey process of 2021 on Monday, February 15th. More information will be forthcoming about this survey process and how to participate. We would love to have 100% participation this year!
Please know that our love for our residents and our commitment to their health and safety remains the primary force behind the decisions being made and actions being taken here at the community. We appreciate your continued support and compliance with our COVID-19 protocols to keep our residents and associates as safe and healthy as possible. And as always, please continue to follow the 3 W’s; wear a mask, wash your hands, and watch for social distancing. If you need a new mask, please stop by the front desk and we will be happy to provide you with one. Robyn Penick, Resident Relations Manager, is Manager on Duty this weekend and will be available to assist you if needed. Have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Tom Ford, Executive Director
Mary Casey, Assistant Executive Director
