Dear Residents and Families of The Cardinal,
We hope everyone is enjoying the first few days of summer and this beautiful weather forecasted for this week. We are encouraged by the decreasing COVID-19 cases and hope this trend will continue as more people get vaccinated in the coming weeks. Last week Wake County’s positive test rate was 2.1%, which is the lowest it has been in over a year.
Beginning the first full week of July, The Cardinal will offer 3 more vaccine clinics at the community in partnership with Hayes Barton Pharmacy in an effort to vaccinate all associates by the end of September. The pharmacy will offer the Moderna and J&J vaccine at all three clinics. These vaccine clinics will be open to Cardinal associates, Cardinal associates’ family members, personal service providers, residents, and residents’ family members. If you have a family member or personal service provider who would like to receive the vaccine at our first clinic on July 6th, please call 984-204-8444 and ask to speak to the healthcare desk to sign up. The deadline to sign up for this first clinic is this Friday, June 25th at 5:00pm. The remaining vaccine clinic dates will be on August 3rd and August 31st.
We are excited to announce a new feature with Accushield, our visitor screening and sign-in kiosk partner, to help expedite the sign-in process. Family and friends now have the option to download an app on their phone to complete the sign-in process with a QR code. Anyone using the app feature to sign-in must have completed at least one manual sign-in at the community kiosk before using the app. The app will allow visitors to answer the pertinent screening questions in the app to generate the QR code needed for scanning at the kiosk. This step in the process can be done up to one hour prior to visiting so the QR code is easily accessible when you arrive to sign-in. Once the QR code is scanned, the kiosk will take your temperature and print your visitor badge. An informational flyer about this new feature and how to download the app is located by the kiosk at each desk. We hope this enhances your sign-in process moving forward.
Marshmon Car Detailing service will be here this Saturday, June 26th from 8:00am – 1:00pm. If you are interested in having your car detailed this Saturday, please call the front desk to reserve your spot.
The painting project in the South Tower hallways is almost complete and we are loving how fresh and clean everything looks. As a friendly reminder, all furniture and exterior door mats should now be removed from the hallways. We will begin an inspection of the hallways in North and South Tower next week and any resident who still has furniture or an exterior door mat in the hallway will receive a notice to have them removed immediately. Please help us maintain the beauty and integrity of our community by adhering to this policy.
Many residents have recently inquired about how to dispose of larger, unwanted items or furniture and we now have a way to help you purge these items. Next week we will have a dumpster on-site by the loading dock to dispose of larger items. If you have a large item that you would like to discard, please call the front desk to place a work order for one of our custodial staff to come pick it up for you.
Each year, Kisco Senior Living honors top performing associates at the community level with a special award called the Tanzanite Award. Recipients of this award exemplify Kisco’s principles, values, and beliefs on a daily basis by providing excellent service to our residents and their fellow teammates. This year, the Tanzanite Award nominee for The Cardinal is Lauren Gray, Wellness Assistant. Lauren began her career at The Cardinal almost 2 years ago and has contributed so much to the community in that time with her infectious smile, can-do attitude, and never ending energy. We are excited to announce that Lauren has been selected as one of 6 finalists for the entire company. As a finalist, Lauren will receive a $250 prize and will go on to compete against 5 other deserving associates from other communities around the country via a virtual recorded interview submission process. Please join us in congratulating Lauren for this prestigious honor and wish her the best of luck as she moves forward in the award selection process.
Sincerely,
Tom Ford, Executive Director
