Dear Residents, Families, and Associates of The Fountains;
Throughout this entire pandemic experience, I have continued to provide open dialogue with residents, families, and associates and will continue to do so whether the news is good or, as in this case, more “challenging”.
We have received all the associate results from the community COVID-19 test completed on 6/25/2020. From this testing we had 5 positive cases of the virus for a total of 7 associates. We currently have 4 associates in Dining Services, 1 associate in Maintenance and 2 associate in our housekeeping department that have tested positive for Covid-19. After a thorough investigation, we believe that these associates have been compliant with all hygiene protocols, mask-wearing, and all sanitation best practices. These associate will remain out of the community until fully recovered (and not until multiple negative Covid tests are completed). Thankfully, all associates are doing well and none are symptomatic at this time. We currently have 11 associates staying home because they have been in direct contact with either an associate that has tested positive or someone in their household was in contact with someone who tested positive. These associates have all tested negative in the past however we thought this was an extra precaution in doing everything possible to keep our community safe.
The community offered Covid testing to all residents who were interested. The Fountains currently has 277 residents, 262 residents opted to be tested with only 15 opting not to be tested.
We continue to offer all services to resident in their apartment at this time. On July 5th the community will open a 1 hour recess in the morning and late afternoon. This is a great time for residents to take advantage of our 3/4 mile Cypress Walking Trail or get some fresh air in our garden and beautiful pool area. Resident are asked to wear a mask at all times and use social distance when socializing with their friends.
We are in the process of organizing our annual July celebration, tho it may look a little different this year it is sure to be a lot of fun! This will be a resident only party on July 11th and will include live music and a fireworks display by the Zambelli family.
We will continue to operate guided by the CDC and are monitoring all residents and associates daily.
Thank you for your continued support as we navigate through these unusual circumstances together.
Sincerely,
Sandra Garutti
Executive Director
