Executive Director Updates

** Don’t miss your chance for a rent credit!
COVID Testing Protocol Change
Reminder that testing for associates and residents are now every other week. We skipped testing this week, but will test everyone next week.
Zoom Calls
Due to very small participation, we will conclude monthly zoom calls. Everyone is invited to our monthly (in person) community chat/town hall for community updates. We will plan for the third Thursday of every month which will blend with the monthly resident council update (this meeting is for the council to update the community on what they discussed in their own meeting).
Mask Usage
Effective immediately- residents are not required to wear a mask around the inside of the community. CDC does recommend that if you are NOT vaccinated, you should continue to wear a mask in doors. Not wearing a mask is completely voluntary and you are still welcome to wear a mask if you are not comfortable taking it off. Associates and visitors are still required to wear masks inside the community. Outside of the community, no one is required to wear a mask. We will continue to monitor CDC guidelines, as well as Federal/State/Local guidance on this topic.
Sales Update From Sales
Join Gayle Gois, Senior Sales Specialist, for a special luncheon where you can share your story of why you moved to Woodbridge Terrace on Tuesday, June 15th in the private dining room at 11:30am. We will have a special meal for those who attend. Gayle would love to meet you to discuss a project where you can have a voice for those that need encouragement and looking to move into a senior living community. If you would like to attend this luncheon, please RSVP at the front desk.
June 25th is our next Concert in the Park starting at 6PM- the band is Hollywood Meets Broadway featuring Dewey Erney and Ron Eschete Trio. Hit songs from movies and Broadway shows.
Reminder: any resident or family member who recommends Woodbridge Terrace will receive 1 month free rent after the referral has moved in for 90 days. This offer will be going away soon, so recommend your friends now to lock this in for the future!
Dining Update From Chef Adrian
We have our new Sous Chef- his name is Ivan. He comes from working at the UCI dining room as well as a Sous Chef at Kaiser Permanente.
We are aiming to re-open Fresco bistro Monday June 7. Thank you everyone for your patience during the closure the last couple of weeks.
For this week, we are focusing on the following steps of service:
- Courtesy- We as a team must always treat the residents with respect, if you see a resident struggling with something ask if they would like a hand.
- RBS (Responsible Beverage Service) – Carding (if a person looks under 30 will be asked to show their valid ID)
- Labeling items as we put them away with expiration dates.
- Serve from the left take from the right.
- Checking in with tables to ensure everything they need arrived timely.

Maintenance and Housekeeping Update From Josh
We are making great progress with our upgrades to the community. We are on schedule to have all of our common area upgrades completed by July 4th. This coming week, we will be replacing the carpet and installing new flooring after hours for the second floor common area outside of our new Family Room, Tech Lounge, and elevators. This upgrade will be a two-step process- one night we will be tearing up the existing carpeting, and the next night, we will install the new flooring. We will make sure to have the area of work safe to walk on for our residents and staff to use during this time.
We did not end up shutting down the water this past week due to a technical difficulty with one of our pumps for the building. We are having this repaired, and we will give notice once again to all residents, family, and staff to let them know when we will be shutting down the water.
Resident Relations Update From Meghan
Many of our residents are beginning to use motorized carts/scooters/chairs, so we want to update everyone one on our motorized scooter/chair policies. To operate a motorized carts/scooters/chairs, we will need to have a doctors endorsement stating the operator of the motorized carts/scooters/chairs is capable of operating this type of transportation. We have the motorized cart form in our contract, so for those who have not received our contract, you can pick up the form from my office. We also require liability insurance to be purchased as a pre-caution. This way in the event another resident gets injured while a motorized carts/scooters/chairs are in use, this will cover the resident utilizing the motorized carts/scooters/chairs if the injured party decides to pursue legal action. For current residents, we are asking all motorized carts/scooters/chairs users to complete this policy and submitted to me, within 1 month of this letter.
One of our residents have informed us that GEICO seems to be the only insurer that will cover motorized carts/scooters/chairs. Please check with your auto insurance to see if motorized carts/scooters/chairs are covered to be on the safe side.
We also strongly recommended that Renter’s insurance is purchased by all residents. This is to protect the resident’s belonging from self-inflicted damage to your apartment or someone else’s. Check with any insurance you may already have to see if you can bundle motorized carts/scooters/chairs liability insurance and renter’s insurance.

COVID-19 Orange County Numbers
There are 255,347 cumulative cases confirmed (3,941,688 tested) with currently 60 hospitalized and 16 in ICU. Orange County has an .8% (Finally below 1%!) positivity rate which is down from last week, and we remained in the yellow tier which is the “minimal risk level” – this is the least restrictive tier. Thankfully, 249,205 people have recovered so far.
Have a great weekend!
