Dear Residents, Associates and Families,
Here are some updates for you all:
Executive Director Updates
Resident/Family “Leave a Review” Raffle
Congratulations to Betty Hallett for winning this quarter’s “leave a review” raffle of $250 off May’s rent. All other raffle tickets will remain in our raffle for the chance to win on the next three quarters’ drawing. If you haven’t already, leave a review on google or yelp and we will enter a raffle ticket. Families and friends are welcome to participate and give their loved one more chances to win!
Visitation
We are now allowing children 17 years or younger to visit inside the community. Anyone from the ages of 14-17 will be required to test through Sensiva to visit inside the community (unless vaccinated). Ages 13 years and younger can visit without testing (insurances will not pay for surveillance COVID testing for ages 13 and under) but need to be able to wear their mask the entire visit (everyone is required to wear their mask the entire visit). We are only doing family testing on Thursdays but will open up 1-2 more days in the very near future. We will let you know when more testing days are available. Please limit your guests to no more than 3 people at a time.
Temporary Signs Around Community
Some of you may have already noticed the new temporary signs around the community. We are making sure every sign is accurate before we have the actual signs sent to production and installed. All of Atria’s signs will be replaced with Kisco’s signs in the next 6-8 weeks. Once we finalize the signs, the team and I will remove the paper signs, but please be patient with us until then.
New Community Intercom System
We just recently installed a community intercom system that we can use to alert residents about activities, community happenings, or even emergencies. The intercom plays over the hallway music, so if you hear our message, open your door and we will always repeat the message twice.
Sales Update From Valerie and Geoff
We are planning an upcoming Open House event for our residents and families to meet the Community Management Team “Picnic in the Park.” Hold the date of Saturday 4/24 from 11AM to 1PM. We are planning fun food and festivities. The event flyer will be emailed out in the next couple of weeks!
We are doing a first responder drive through event on April 15th from 8AM-10AM. We will have bagels and donuts to hand out and we will be making banners/signs showing our heartfelt appreciation for all their hard work. If you or your loved one was a Police Officer or Firefighter, please let us know so we can make sure you are apart of the appreciation (this means family members too!). Join us out front in the roundabout to show your appreciation for the local fire station and police force.
Don’t forget, we have a Resident and Family Referral program right now. Anyone you refer that decides to move to Woodbridge Terrace, you will receive one month rent credit after the person that moves in reaches their 90th day. Please email us or call and speak with Valerie or Geoff if you have a referral.
In the Month of March we welcomed 4 new residents to the community! For April we already have two incoming residents scheduled.
Dining Update From Chef Adrian
As a reminder, we will not be opening our Easter brunch to families as we cannot accommodate seating in our dining room at this time. We will open up our events once seating is expanded (waiting for Health Department to give us the green light).
**Fresco Bistro is slated to open on April 12th!
We will be considering 2 seating times for dinner due to the limited space until we can open up our capacity. Communication will go out and we will make sure to ask everyone’s preference for the times we choose. Thank you for being patient with us as we adjust to the current needs of the community.
Wellness Update From Candise
Card Games and Community wide events are slowly but surely taking place. We are beginning card games like Bridge, Mahjong and Poker starting April. Starting May, we are opening community wide events to our families and guests. Stay tuned for details!
We are excited to Celebrate Easter Sunday Brunch with our residents this year!
Our Easter Activity Schedule contains an Easter Bunny Photo Booth, Bunny or Cross Craft, Golden Easter Egg Hunt with the Staff and Digital Religious Services. On this day, you are welcome to drop by the community with your children to hunt for Easter Eggs. Our residents are hiding the Easter Eggs in the front of the property and in the back park area by the Gazebo. To enter the back park area at the rod iron gate, please insert code 3579 and close the gate immediately right after to prevent alarm from sounding.
Thank you to everyone for utilizing our 10to8 Booking platform to reserve a time to visit your loved one. In this platform, I will provide you a confirmation follow-up message with details within 24-48 hours. Also, we realized that the SENSIVA test results were received after 24-36 hours, so we are expecting results to come in no later than 72 hours. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.
Maintenance and Housekeeping Update From Josh
We have completed the work on our front entry, and it is ready for full use again. We have also successfully completed the transition to TSM South phone system. All of our residents will now have complimentary phone service. In addition, we are in the final stages of completing our new Wi-Fi system for our community. We have run into a few complications, but we are expecting to have the project completed by the end of next week. Finally, we have also completed the installation of our new program, Touchtown. Touchtown is a program that has given our residents the ability to turn to channel 1960 on their televisions to see all of our daily activities, current weather, and more! We have installed 10 common area televisions that will be displaying all of this information 24/7. In the near future, we will have the ability to play a movie over Touchtown and each resident can tune in to channel 1960 to watch that movie from their room if they would like.
Resident Relations Update From Meghan
Reminder- April Statements are out- If payments are not received by April 10th, a late fee of 5% of the total monthly statement total will be applied on the next month’s bill. I will always make sure to give courtesy calls to avoid these fees.
Guest meals- Fee will be applied to next monthly statement for the resident.
Assisted Living and Memory Care Update From Terrie and Matthew
We have interviewed different imaging companies to better serve all the residents in the community. This Imaging Provider is able to accept many insurance providers, including Kaiser. For those that have a difficult time getting out of the community all we will need is the order from the doctor and we will coordinate with the company to schedule a window time for an X-ray, ultrasound, doppler, echocardiogram or EKG in house for your loved ones. We will be launching this partnership the week of April 12. We are very excited!
For those of you who do not know Jackie, Jackie is our Resident Care Coordinator who oversees the care plans with Terrie in assisted living. If you ever have any care questions, concerns, or need to speak to a senior person in the care department, please reach out to Jackie Francisco. Jackie is the liaison between our residents and care staff and can assist with any needs you might have. Jackie can be reached at the main line for the community or by email Jackie.Francisco@kiscosl.com
COVID-19 Orange County Numbers
There are 250,854 cumulative cases confirmed (3,373,593 tested) with currently 118 hospitalized and 23 in ICU. Orange County has an 1.7% positivity rate which shows a decrease over last week, and this week we moved into the orange tier which is the “moderate risk level.” Thankfully, 243,165 people have recovered so far.
Thank you all for being so cooperative with our guidelines to keep you all safe!
Very best,
Stephen Pratt
Interim Executive Director
