Dear Woodland Terrace Residents, Families, and Associates,
We are excited to announce that we held our first community vaccine clinic on Tuesday, January 19th! The clinic was a great success with nearly all residents getting vaccinated in this first round. We were also able to begin the process of vaccinating our associates. Woodland Terrace is scheduled to have two more COVID vaccine clinics on the dates of February 16th and March 16th. We would like to thank our vaccine clinic partner Walgreens for their assistance in making these clinics happen.
The vaccination gives us the best pathway to reducing the threat of COVID. Since the onset of this pandemic, we’ve introduced operational changes in response to the pandemic, we’ve worked hard to stay informed, to follow the science, and to ensure that we stay aligned with state, local, and federal guidance. All of our decisions continue to be influenced by a commitment to balance the safety of our residents and associates while balancing “quality of life” considerations.
Even with the excitement and roll out of the vaccine, we continue to provide weekly industry leading COVID testing for our residents and associates. This testing is in excess of any state or federally “mandated” protocols. The frequent testing has allowed us to safely open our dining venues with reduced capacity, conduct more wellness activities, and better manage residents who leave our community (without the need for long quarantines). We of course adjust our protocols and operations in the instances of positive cases. While mask wearing is still necessary and other safety pillars continue to be vital parts of our “safe-at-home” protocols, we our excited how our frequent testing protocol has proven to be an amazing resource in allowing us quality of life adjustments that everyone has found most welcome!
To date we’ve spent well over $100,000 in Covid-related expenses to provide our teams with the protection they need. We have also incurred additional costs for extended sick time pay for some associates to ensure that we can keep everyone safe without financial impact to affected associates.
Thank you for all of your support throughout this experience. We will continue to stay informed and our promise to you is that we will continue to be fully transparent during the pandemic. In the instances that we have positive cases, we will provide separate and direct communication to all residents, families, and associates with vital information.
Please reach out if you have any additional questions about Woodland Terrace, our industry leading protocols, or our upcoming vaccine clinics.
Sincerely,
Matt Towler, Executive Director
