Dear Residents, Families, and Associates of Byron Park,
I would like to update you on the status of COVID-19 cases and other community information. As a reminder we previously identified an outbreak at Byron Park. Due to countrywide increased testing and enhanced CDC reporting requirements there has been a delay in our lab’s processing time. While testing result times are not in alignment with our expectations, we are doing everything we can from the community level to ensure our commitment to timely testing is maintained. There are 22 outstanding test results from our 7/31 test date which include 2 residents and 20 associates. 55 resident tests and 63 associate tests from our 8/6 testing date are also pending. Today’s round of testing for Independent Living has been postponed until next Tuesday due to a lab shipping error. All associates and assisted living residents were completed as scheduled.
As of today, we have 0 active cases or suspected cases of COVID19 in our community. The resumption of outdoor dining, group wellness opportunities and masked and socially distant visitation, fitness center and pool access can occur once we are clear of COVID-19 for 2 consecutive weeks. Our approach to loosen restrictions will continue to follow testing and prevalence data. We continue to be focused on balancing our resident’s social-emotional needs and measures to keep our community safe.
We know that upholding the four pillars of safety (masks, screening, social distancing, and handwashing/sanitation) coupled with frequent testing significantly reduces the risk of spread of COVID-19.
I have had the opportunity to speak with many of you personally over the last few weeks and appreciate the dialogue we have shared over this challenging situation. So many of you have asked how to share kudos about our team’s care, commitment, and efforts during this time. I have linked our message board below to share your sentiments!
