Dear Residents, Families, and Associates of La Posada:
It is hard to believe we are more than halfway through the month of August. Based on the heat, rain, and humidity, I say we skip September and go straight to October. I am glad to report that the alligator was caught by a state trapper in one of the nearby lakes. Thankfully, the alligator was wearing a mask and did not expose any residents or associates to COVID-19. All joking aside, the entire management team is busy planning for our sweet Sixteenth Anniversary celebration on September 16, 2020. We are all looking forward to creating safe ways for us to celebrate this milestone together. We have lots of surprises in store for you.
Testing
We successfully completed our first round of COVID-19 testing on 100% of our associates. We plan to conduct one more round of testing on all associates this week and, based on the results, may decide to test 25% of a random selection going forward. As a result of the testing, we were notified that two associates tested positive for COVID-19. One associate works in the Health Center and the other associate works in IL. Based on the job duties of these associates and our thorough contact tracing, resident exposure was very low. In addition, I have been informed that one resident in Mallorca has tested positive due to exposure from a private duty aide. Thankfully, we expect the resident to make a full recovery and return to the community to recuperate from their illness.
Notification
We have notified the proper government agencies to ensure they are aware of the positive test results. We are happy to report that the married couple referred to in my last letter as having tested positive were retested, and both tests came back negative. As always, we will keep open communication with our residents, families and associates every step of the way.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me, Paulina Jacobs, Kenneth Heidrich or Marisol Tassy.
Sincerely,
Brad Cadiere
