Dear Residents, Families and Associates of BridgePoint at Los Altos:
I continue to be amazed by the hard work and teamwork that our residents and associates have put forth to maintain a safe environment for all. It is because of these efforts that we remain COVID-free. As we say hello to a new month, I am excited to share some new developments.
This week we will complete our first round of pooled saliva testing. Our testing partner Genetworx has consistently provided results within 24-72 hours, so we expect the same turnround time for all subsequent tests. Attached to this letter is a summary of guidelines surrounding pooled testing. Please post this in your apartment to refer to if you are randomly selected to be tested. If you are selected, you will be notified at least 24 hours in advance.
Throughout this week, we have been celebrating Customer Service Week! Our Front Desk team is known as the central hub of information for our valued residents, their families, fellow associates and guests. They work incredibly hard to ensure we continue to provide exemplary service by responding to residents needs and concerns and promoting a sense of community and friendship. Each day of the week we have gifted the front desk with goodies as a small token of appreciation for all that they do for us. If you’d like to recognize a specific person, you can write a heartfelt message here: https://www.kiscoseniorliving.com/send-a-heartfelt-message-to-our-heroes/.
This Saturday and Sunday, we will be hosting our first outdoor lunch event. Our first seating will be at 11:00 am and our second seating will be at 12:15 pm. Residents will be spaced at least 6 feet apart. Residents who live in the same apartment will be allowed to sit at the same table. Tables will be sanitized between uses and hand sanitizer will be available. At this time, we are not accepting reservations via phone or email. For more information, please reach out to our Dining Director, Rachelle Bond.
This Sunday, we will have our first live virtual Catholic service. Our Wellness Team is working behind the scenes to ensure services for a variety of religious groups are available at the community. The Wellness Team has also updated their weekly shopping schedule to Fridays only. To submit a shopping request, please reach out to Fidel or Tatiana in the Wellness department.
On Tuesday, October 13th we will be wearing pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month. Associates and residents are invited to participate. If you are a family member who would like to join, snap a picture of yourself wearing pink and tag Bridgepoint at Los Altos to be featured on our Instagram and Facebook! For more information about how you can help, please visit nationalbreastcancer.org.
Thursday, October 15th at 1:00 pm, we will be hosting a Fall Prevention In-Service for residents. Through practical lifestyle adjustments, evidence-based programs, and community partnerships, the number of falls among seniors can be reduced substantially. That is why we’ve partnered with Prime Living Home Health to give residents tips and resources.
On October 16th, residents are invited to celebrate fellow resident, Paul Makler, on a monumental achievement…reaching 100 years of age! We will be commemorating this special milestone with a birthday celebration in the front parking lot. Come say hello and give a much-deserved congratulations to Paul!
On Friday, October 30th, we will be hosting our second annual costume contest! Residents and associates are invited to join us in the front parking lot for a Halloween Spook-tacular Special! Get boogie with food, drinks and music. At 2:00 pm we will have our fangtastic Monster Walk, so make sure to wear your customer for a chance to win some spooky prizes!
Lastly, I wanted to remind our associates, families and guests to be courteous when street parking in the surrounding area. Please avoid blocking driveways, intersections, and mailboxes. If you would like to dispose of trash, you may do so using the community’s trash bins located in the parking lot or near the front lobby. Our lovely neighbors have been so understanding of the limited parking space at the community and we wish to maintain the positive relationship we have built.
I appreciate everyone’s understanding and patience during these challenging months. We know the damage social isolation can cause and are working to get things as close to normal as possible for our
residents. I will continue to take a measured approach to increasing programs and events based on county guidelines and data. Be sure to stay connected to find out more.
As always, stay safe, stay healthy.
Thank you,
Maria Quintero
Executive Director
