Aloha Residents, Families and Loved Ones,
‘Ilima at Leihano is committed to the safety of our residents and associates which extends to our early vaccine mandate announcement in May ’21. As a result, our community continues to be a safe place to live and work.
We are happy to report that as of January 14th 100% of our associates are fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) along with 97% of our residents. Our vaccination rate compares favorably with the State of Hawaii’s progress of 75.1% of the total population fully vaccinated though this number does not differentiate between boosted and non-boosted persons.
Until the dramatic surge with the Omicron variant of Covid-19, we were welcoming visitation by fully vaccinated and boosted persons. With the increase in average daily new positive cases of 3,518 in the most recent 7-days, we have restricted visitation to essential visits only to include hospice/end of life, physical/occupational therapists and medical related situations.
Outdoor non-essential visits are allowed for fully vaccinated persons 5-years of age and older to include the booster shot (when eligible). Unvaccinated visitors must provide a negative PCR test 48-hours prior to the visit. Since the start of the pandemic we use guidance from the CDC, Federal and State of Hawaii to create our Covid-19 safety protocols. We also follow the fast-changing guidance and information to adjust these protocols.
Each vaccination puts us closer to regaining aspects of our lives that have been disrupted during the pandemic. Please encourage your friends and family to get vaccinated and boosted!
We all look forward to the New Year and thank you for your continued patience and support of our safety measures. Please contact Valerie Rickard or myself for any questions and we can be reached at 808-674-8022.
Sincerely,
Mark T. Tsuda
Executive Director
