Dear All Residents, Associates and Families of Byron Park,
We have completed our baseline testing for associates and there are no additional positive cases. The results are 89 negative and 2 positives for a total of 91 associates.
Today we have completed a secondary round of associate testing and an initial round of resident testing. Any resident with a positive result will be shared in real time with the resident and their responsible party via phone. A same day notice will be shared as we have done in the past. Due to the volume of people being tested, we are only calling for positive results. A summary of completed and pending tests will be updated in our standard Friday notice.
We will continue to partner with Contra Costa Public Health’s Communicable Disease Program, the John Muir Covid19 support team and community care licensing during this shelter in place and monitoring period. As a reminder our county Public Health has defined an “outbreak” as a single case of COVID19 or more.
The protocols that we put into place earlier, continue to remain in place. These include restricting visitors, monitoring each resident and associate for temperature and respiratory symptoms, suspending all meal service and activities, and increased disinfecting of all high-traffic/high-touch areas.
For the safety of all residents and as directed by Public Health, we will continue to require all residents to shelter in place. The resumption of outdoor dining, group wellness opportunities and masked and socially distant visitation, fitness center and pool access can occur once we have completed 2 weeks of mass testing with negative results.
