Dear All Residents, Associates and Families of Byron Park,
On Friday, July 17th we began our 2nd round of associate testing and our initial baseline testing of residents. Testing results are trickling in due to the high volume of testing in our state and industry.
We have received notification a 3rd associate has tested positive during this 2nd round of testing. In partnership with Public Health, we have identified this associate was not in the community during the exposure window. Community Care Licensing was also notified.
As a reminder any resident with a positive result will be shared in real time with the resident and their responsible party via phone. A same day notice will be shared as we have done in the past. Due to the volume of people being tested, we are only calling for positive results. A summary of completed and pending tests will be updated in our standard Friday notice.
We will continue to partner with Contra Costa Public Health’s Communicable Disease Program, John Muir Covid19 support team and community care licensing during this shelter in place and monitoring period.
The protocols that we put into place earlier continue to remain in place. These include restricting visitors, monitoring each resident and associate for temperature and respiratory symptoms, suspending all meal service and activities, and increased disinfecting of all high-traffic/high-touch areas.
For the safety of all residents and as directed by Public Health, we will continue to require all residents to shelter in place. The resumption of outdoor dining, group wellness opportunities and masked and socially distant visitation, fitness center and pool access can occur once we have completed 2 weeks of mass testing with negative results.
