Dear All Residents, Associates and Families of Byron Park,
This letter is to update you on the status of COVID-19 at our community. As a reminder, we tested all associates and residents on July 17th aside from the previously noted positive cases below all other residents and associates were negative for COVID19.
Another round of community testing began on July 24th, 2020. Due to the high volume of people being tested, we are only calling for positive results at this time. If you would like a copy of your negative result please submit a request to BP.Reception@kiscosl.com and allow for a 48 hour return window.
Currently, we have five active cases at our community. Three residents and two associates. All three residents are in stable condition, sheltering in their apartment, and with heightened safety protocols implemented to meet this resident’s needs and to reduce the risk of spread. Covid19 positive residents have been assigned a designated team to solely support these resident’s care needs. The two positive associates are stable and will continue to quarantine at home until cleared to return to work. Aligned with CDC protocols, we are actively reviewing contact tracing and additional details will be provided to any individuals who may have had risk exposure. We send our positive thoughts and support for a full recovery to our team members, residents, and families affected by this virus.
Resident testing will be completed Friday July 31st, 2020 between 8:30am and 3:00pm
Associate testing will be completed on Thursday July 30th,2020 between 8:00am and 12:00pm
We will continue to partner with Contra Costa Public Health’s Communicable Disease Program, John Muir Covid19 support team and community care licensing during this shelter in place and monitoring period.
The protocols that we put into place earlier, continue to remain in place. These include restricting visitors for essential services only, monitoring each resident and associate for temperature and respiratory symptoms, in-apartment meal and wellness services, and increased disinfecting of all high-traffic/high-touch areas.
For the safety of all residents and as directed by Public Health, we will continue to require all residents to shelter in place. The resumption of outdoor dining, group wellness opportunities and masked and socially distant visitation, fitness center and pool access can occur once we have completed 2 weeks of mass testing with negative results. Our approach to loosen restrictions will continue to follow testing and prevalence data. We continue to be focused on balancing our resident’s social-emotional needs and measures to keep our community safe!
We want to remind everyone to continue washing your hands frequently, complete our daily health screening and report when you are not feeling well, wear a mask for the entire duration you are in any common area or with other people and stay six feet physically distant. I understand you may have questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out directly.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Pastora
Executive Director
