Hello Everyone,
For the past few months we have been focusing on prevention, testing and the overall safety of our residents and staff. We have followed local and state guidelines. Overall, Emerald Court has done a fantastic job protecting each other from COVID19. The team effort between residents, family members and staff shows on how well we have been keeping each other safe in our community.
Emerald Court was one of the first senior communities in Anaheim to received the COVID19 vaccine, as our first vaccination day was January 8th, 2021. Our second vaccination day was on January 29th, 2021, and we are scheduled to have our final vaccination day on February 19th, 2021. By the last vaccination day, we will have over 90% of our residents, and over 70% of our associates (staff) be vaccinated. It is safe to say that our community is one of the safest communities in Orange County!
We intend to continue our safety protocols until we are confident that our residents and staff will continue to be safe. We will continue to test our staff and residents on a weekly basis. Currently, the pooled saliva testing of all residents have been negative results. For staff, we only have one staff member who is off work due to exposure and a possible positive result. We will update everyone with the most updated results of if/when a positive result occurs.
We are currently planning to reopen our dining venues and indoor activities in March 2021. With the contingency that we will have two (2) consecutive weeks of negative COVID19 results on our testing, per public health. We are excited and looking forward to have our community come alive again with (limited) indoor activities and dining. Currently, we are able to do outdoor activities. Please check out our social media platforms on Facebook and Instagram. Follow us there for more up to date pictures and daily/weekly updates.
Just a reminder for family members: in order to enter the residents’ apartments for visitation, we are still requiring a PCR negative test result within 24 hours of the visit. We can administer the testing in the community, or you can bring an accepted PCR test result to us. Also, residents are able to leave the community without having to quarantine or isolate upon return. Please contact us for details.
We are also still requiring everyone to follow Emerald Court’s pillars of safety, which includes: Wearing a mask properly, washing hands frequently with warm water and soap, being physically distanced from others, and monitoring changes in health condition and reporting this to us immediately.
The safety of all residents and staff are always at the forefront. We thank our residents and family members for staying strong through these difficult times. Our staff and management team have worked tirelessly in trying to balance safety and quality of life for our residents. We will continue to be vigilant and do our best to keep everyone safe. We are all in this together and we are getting through this together!
Thank you,
Patricia Gustin
Executive Director
