Kisco’s National Culinary Quick Fire Challenge

October 15, 2021

National Culinary Quick Fire ChallengeKisco’s National Culinary Quick Fire Challenge went live this week streaming our community Chef’s from coast to the coast. The event was hosted by Randall Lonoza, National Director of Culinary Services. The Dining and Wellness teams partnered up and were challenged to use a secret ingredient in their creations; Giuseppe Giusti Gran Deposito Aceto Balsamico Di Modena- a 12-year aged Balsamic Vinegar of Modena.

The culinary teams could prepare any number of dishes with the product they had in their kitchen. The secret ingredient was required to be used as well. Wellness Directors procured the secret ingredient, took pictures, and managed a live video of the Chef’s in action. Our National Director of Wellness & Memory Care Programming, Libbi Hash, participated at The Fountains of Melbourne where she shared video of the culinary team on Facebook Live!

Quick Fire Challenge Virtual Audience

Kisco’s Home Office team joined the challenge virtually and participated in judging the final culinary creations. It was a close race with Woodbridge Terrace of Irvine led by Sous Chef Ivan Rodriguez being named the 2021 National Culinary Quick Fire Champions. The winning dish? A pistachio crusted swordfish with truffle mashed potatoes and rainbow baby carrots marinated in herb oil and lemon cream. It was beautifully prepared and plated with excellence!

The Woodbridge Terrace of Irvine culinary team will receive beautifully crafted gold chef knife lapel pins and a catered appreciation lunch of their choosing, sponsored by our business partners at HPSI.

We appreciate the passions and collaboration shared from our amazing Dining and Wellness teams.
